Hello Public Water Systems, this is to inform you of this opportunity to participate in the EPA Public Safety Power Shutoff Webinar Series for the California Water Sector. EPA is hosting a webinar series to share and discuss the SOPs with a broad audience. Each webinar will include presentations, discussions and opportunities for audience Q&A. The California Drinking Water Operator Certification Program has approved two hours of training time for each webinar.
This is the next step after the development of the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) template for consideration by public water systems, the result of the collaborative efforts of the EPA, SWRCB, CalWARN, PG&E, SCE, public water systems, and wastewater systems. This SOP template was developed to assist California drinking water and wastewater utilities to better plan, prepare for, respond to, and recover from a PSPS event triggered by weather and environmental conditions that may lead to wildfire.
Details and the link to register are on the attached flyer. The first 2-hour session is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 10 am PT.
Thank you.
